Everton set to splash whooping £60m on Aubameyang

Sam Allardyce wants to pull off an audacious £60million swoop for Borussia Dortmund marksman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The new Everton boss is ready to throw his hat into the ring for the Gabonese goal machine, with Dortmund ready to sell the striker when the January transfer window opens.

Big Sam sees Aubameyang filling the gap left in the Blues’ side by Romelu Lukaku, last season’s top-scorer, who moved to Manchester United in July for an initial £75m and then was not adequately replaced.

The 28-year-old has an outstanding scoring record in Germany’s Bundesliga — this season alone, he has netted 19 times in 20 games in all competitions — and over the last six seasons, the first two at France’s St Etienne, he has scored 114 league goals.

The Premier League’s biggest clubs all now have high-class frontmen leading the line, after having their interest in Aubameyang rebuffed.

But the player is up for a move to the Premier League.
